CAFE VISION
This popular TV program on Pakistan TV has the following format for those who has not seen it
before, let me give you few points below,

2 Teams of Students/Youngsters/Teenagers (15 to 23 Years old) sit in a cafe on simple table and
chairs, very formal sitting, not a studio, the spot is selected randomly around Karachi and
there is a contemporary topic for each episode, some topics are : Benefits of Studies to get a
Job, Usefulness of Makeup, Importance of Brand Name products, Dowry evil or blessing.

The host is the conductor of this whole program, sometimes he asks questions, very useful
questions, by default teams declare pro or anti stand, it is allowed for team members to say
pro topic from anti team, it is not a rule, but it is a tradition to remain firm in the stand
you take firmly.

THE SCENES
==========
The emotions start flowing, tempers flare up, heat generates, everyone expresses himself/herself
there is a healthy mixture of very delicate looking ladies and tough looking guys, sometimes
the opinions are so important to the participants, they get tearful many times, some times the
opposing team is ruthless in refuting the opinions of other team. Every body is trampled in
a fun manner with opinions, everybody is ridiculed in the limits of decency, the first time
teenagers are so nervous in front of the cameras, you can easily make out they stammer and
they sometimes just say pass the mike without comment, nobody here conducts himself as the
master of public opinion experts, they are the public !! public is usually camera shy.

THE HOST (Name...........)
========
The host holds the only Microphone, he is a good looking man, he is smart, the way he handles
participants is very cool, almost as cool as Oprah Winfrey, by the way his big eyes are almost
like Oprah, this guy has lot of charm and personality, he is not daunting, he looks friendly and
acts friendly with all. He is neutral. Sometimes vibrant teenagers start becoming pushy with
the microphone in hand, they are usually corrected mildly with a smile, everyone listen to him
and most of the times people agree with his manners, I am amazed at the good will of this program
every time I could see lot of discipline on the part of the host, the participating people
behave well, I say in the end Television is a great teacher and leveler.

ADDITIONS TO THE PROGRAM

There is a usually a Chief Guest in each episode, it is a young achiever many a times, he/she is
an artist, singer, writer, businessman etc.,He gets to watch the teenagers and sometimes if we
wants to say a thing or two about the topic microphone is given to him too, he is usually so
happy with the positive interaction taking place in front of him, it is very healthy even for us
viewers to watch all this, it is really very enjoyable to see red faced teenagers trying to put
their opinion across in a balanced way. Nobody interrupts anyone until he is finished saying
what he was saying.

SOME OF MY CONCLUSIONS

This format is almost like American Idol/Indian Idol but on a more widespread level, this has
more appeal to everyone, IDOL participants are appealing to either singers or dancers and a few
people in the audience, sometimes IDOL programs are boring to people who don’t have these 2
talents, but our program does not have prerequisites for participants, anyone can get listed
Once there was a guy who was high school dropout managing a small business of his own, he was
talking well but with the angel of business.

I mean how healthy and refreshing this format is for a TV show. Youngsters are eager to make
their names and abilities felt all over the country, they really want to say what is in their
hearts and get counted among viewers.
This program has best eyeball experience, brainstorm and hook. It is almost like, its me out
there 100% participation, it enjoyable 1 hour of unrehearsed, untrained, unassembled, unchopped
unedited without dialogues written by dialogue writers, its fresh , cool like the early morning
breeze, I am fed up with female artists with 2 inches thick make up acting devious, or being
pious, or being motherly, I am screaming for change, all those sickening dialogues, sickening
stories and puke inducing love triangles are boring to death.

If I was resident of Pakistan, I would ask for extension of this program and bring back the
host with new sponsors, more episodes and another hit in the making. I demand credit for
bringing this idea to Indian producers, I will sue everyone who steal this idea, I only want
my name in the credits, because this program will make Indian Audience pleased for a long time
to come, in my humble opinion Mr.Karan Johar with his broad outlook and good approach with
vast talent to back him is a ideal host for a program of new India Generation.

TAKE IT EASY !!!
This is a good title I can suggest for this program, this title belongs to Mr.Shoeb of Deccan
Chronicle of old times. This was the title of his cartoon column.
